On-Site Fingerprinting for Nursing Students, Planned Around Clinicals

Midwest Identity Services provides on-site fingerprinting for nursing students and allied health programs. We bring a scheduled fingerprinting event to your campus so an entire cohort completes the step together, ahead of clinical placement deadlines.

The challenge

Why fingerprinting delays clinical placements

Clinical sites won’t wait for fingerprints. But students rarely get them done on time when they are left to find appointments on their own.

  1. Deadlines tied to placements

Clinical affiliates often require background screening before a student’s first shift. One late set of prints can hold up a rotation schedule.

  2. Individual appointments don’t scale

Asking a full cohort to book their own appointments means inconsistent timing, missed instructions and repeated follow-up from your office.

  3. Rejected or incomplete prints

Poor-quality prints or incorrect forms can lead to resubmission and new delays in a process that was already running against a deadline.

  4. Requirements that vary

Clinical partners, background check platforms and state boards may each ask for something slightly different.

A fingerprinting event designed around your program calendar

Compliance coordinators give us the cohort, the deadline and the requirement. We plan everything else.

Before

Planning with your compliance office

We confirm headcount, clinical deadlines, the requirement students must meet and the documents they need, then provide attendee instructions you can send to students.

During

A structured campus fingerprinting event

Students check in by time block, present identification and are fingerprinted by our technicians, with print quality reviewed before they leave.

After

Submission and follow-up

Prints are submitted electronically or delivered on cards as the requirement specifies, and your office has one contact for student-specific questions.

Group fingerprinting for nursing schools, held on your campus

A campus fingerprinting event for students removes the biggest variable: getting everyone to an appointment.

We work with nursing programs, community colleges and universities to schedule sessions during orientation, lab days or the weeks before clinicals begin. As your on-campus fingerprinting vendor, we handle setup, check-in flow and print quality so your staff can stay focused on their own work.

  • Sessions scheduled by cohort, section or time block
  • Students fingerprinted where they already are
  • Setup in a classroom, lab or conference room
  • One point of contact for your compliance office

Fingerprinting for clinical rotation requirements

Many clinical affiliates require a fingerprint-based background check before students begin patient-facing placements.

We help programs complete that step on schedule, including FBI background check fingerprinting for nursing school clinical clearance where a clinical site or state requires it. If your school uses a third-party compliance platform such as Complio or American DataBank, students should follow that platform’s instructions for fingerprint submission. Share those instructions with us and we will plan the event to match.

Midwest Identity Services is an independent provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any compliance tracking platform. Confirm submission requirements with your program’s compliance vendor or clinical partners.

Fingerprinting for allied health clinical clearance

Nursing isn’t the only program with fingerprinting requirements. The same event model supports your wider health sciences portfolio.

Nursing pathways

  • BSN and ADN cohorts, including mobile fingerprinting for BSN cohort background screening
  • Accelerated and second-degree programs
  • Pre-licensure nursing program admission requirements
  • CNA and nurse aide training programs

Allied health

  • Medical assisting and phlebotomy
  • Radiologic and imaging technology
  • Respiratory and surgical technology
  • Pharmacy technician, EMT and paramedic programs

Compliance offices

  • Admissions and pre-clinical background screening
  • Re-screening during a program when required
  • Coordination with clinical affiliate requirements
  • Clinical compliance background check and fingerprinting planning

When students train across state lines

Programs near state borders, online and hybrid programs, and schools with distant clinical partners often have students who need fingerprinting for more than one state.

We coordinate group fingerprinting for nursing student clinical rotations across multiple states and help identify the method each state or clinical site expects. In the Kansas City metro, a single cohort may train at sites in both Missouri and Kansas.

Contact our team
Can you fingerprint an entire nursing cohort on campus?

Yes. We schedule on-campus sessions sized to your class, usually divided into time blocks so students can attend between classes or labs. Space, timing and attendee instructions are confirmed with your office beforehand.

Do nursing students need Live Scan or FD-258 fingerprint cards?

It depends on the state, the clinical site and the background check process your program uses. Some requirements call for electronic Live Scan submission; others require FD-258 ink cards. We confirm the method with you before the event.

Are you an approved fingerprinting vendor for a compliance platform?

Midwest Identity Services is an independent fingerprinting provider and does not claim approval or endorsement from any compliance tracking platform. If your program uses a platform such as Complio or American DataBank, share its fingerprinting instructions with us and we will confirm whether our service can meet them.

Can you help students placed at clinical sites in more than one state?

Yes. We help programs plan fingerprinting for cohorts with placements in several states, identifying the method each state or clinical site expects. See our multi-state fingerprinting programs for more detail.
