What to Expect
The ATF Fingerprinting Process

Most ATF fingerprinting appointments take 15–20 minutes. Here's exactly what happens.

1
Call ahead to confirm your form type
We recommend calling (816) 442-0295 before your appointment to confirm which ATF form you're filing — Form 1, Form 4, Form 5, or FFL Form 23. This ensures we prepare the submissions correctly from the start.
2
Arrive with your ID and form information
Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID and any instructions or form numbers provided to you by the ATF or your attorney. No ink-stained forms to bring — we handle everything in-office.
3
Complete the FD-258 submissions to ATF specifications
We capture your prints using traditional ink on standard FD-258 forms and fill in all required applicant identifier fields — name, date of birth, reason fingerprinted, and ORI number where applicable.
4
Every submission reviewed before you leave
Before you walk out the door, we review each submission for ridge clarity and legibility. If a form needs to be redone, we do it on the spot — before your appointment is considered complete.
5
Fingerprints in hand — ready to submit
You leave with your completed FD-258 submissions, ready to include with your ATF application package. Submit directly to the ATF or through your dealer or attorney as required by your form.

Common Questions Answered

Still unsure? Call (816) 442-0295 and we'll sort it out in two minutes.

We recommend calling ahead for ATF fingerprinting — especially for gun trust multi-trustee appointments or FFL applications — so we can confirm your form type and prepare accordingly. Call (816) 442-0295 before you come in.
ATF fingerprinting is $60–$99 based on services needed. For gun trusts with multiple Responsible Persons, each individual is billed separately. All Responsible Persons can be seen in a single group appointment.
The ATF requires two FD-258 submissions per individual applicant for Form 1, Form 4, and Form 5 applications. For FFL Form 23, each Responsible Person submits two. Our fee covers both submissions for a single transaction.
We provide the completed FD-258 fingerprint submissions only. The ATF form itself (Form 1, Form 4, Form 23, etc.) is filed by you, your attorney, or your dealer — not by us. We handle the fingerprint portion of your application package.
Yes. We schedule multi-trustee gun trusts as a single group appointment. All Responsible Persons are fingerprinted together and each receives their own separate FD-258 submissions. Plan for approximately 15–20 minutes per person.
EFT (Electronic Fingerprint Transaction) is a digital fingerprint file format accepted by the ATF's online eForms system for Form 1 and Form 4 submissions. Instead of physical FD-258 forms, an encrypted digital file is uploaded directly to ATF eForms. We are launching this capability soon — join the waitlist above to be notified at launch.
Yes. We regularly assist customers whose submissions were rejected elsewhere. Come in, bring the rejection notice if you have it, and we'll prepare new submissions with extra attention to ridge clarity. Every submission is reviewed before you leave.
