Used when purchasing an NFA item from a dealer or transferring ownership
Suppressor purchase from a dealer, short barreled rifle purchase or transfer, machine gun transfer (pre-1986 registered), or any NFA item transfer between individuals. The $200 (or $5) tax stamp is paid with this application. Required: an EFT file for eForm 4, or two FD-258 cards on paper, per individual applicant or Responsible Person.

What to expect
The ATF fingerprinting process
Most ATF fingerprinting appointments take 15–20 minutes, whether you need an EFT file or FD-258 cards. Here is exactly what happens.
Call ahead to confirm your form type
We recommend calling (816) 442-0295 before your appointment to confirm which ATF form you are filing: Form 1, Form 4, Form 5 or FFL Form 23. Tell us whether you are filing through ATF eForms or on paper, so we prepare an EFT file or FD-258 cards correctly from the start.
Arrive with your ID and form information
Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID and any instructions or form numbers provided to you by the ATF or your attorney. No forms to bring, we handle everything in-office.
Capture your prints in the format your form needs
For eForms we capture your prints digitally and produce an electronic EFT file. For paper filings we complete standard FD-258 cards. Either way we fill in the required applicant fields: name, date of birth, reason fingerprinted and ORI number where applicable.
Every submission reviewed before you leave
Before you walk out the door, we review each submission for ridge clarity and legibility. If a form needs to be redone, we do it on the spot, before your appointment is considered complete.

You leave with your EFT file or completed FD-258 cards, ready to include with your ATF application. Submit directly to the ATF or through your dealer or attorney as required by your form.

We are based in Kansas City and serve firearms applicants on both the Missouri and Kansas sides of the metro, from a single trustee to a full FFL staff.
Group appointments
Every Responsible Person on a gun trust or FFL application can be fingerprinted in one scheduled visit. Each person leaves with their own EFT file or FD-258 cards.
Mobile sessions for dealers
FFL and SOT businesses with several Responsible Persons can ask about an on-site session. Mobile pricing is the standard service price plus a travel fee for one person, and group sessions are quoted in writing before we book, based on headcount, card types and location.
Other licenses, other states
Need fingerprints for a state license as well as your ATF filing? For state applications we can capture once and produce multiple cards when permitted by the receiving agency. Your ATF prints are prepared separately, to ATF’s instructions.

What is EFT fingerprinting and do you offer it?
Yes, EFT fingerprinting is available now. An EFT is an electronic fingerprint file, the digital format used with ATF eForms submissions such as eForm 1 and eForm 4. Instead of mailing physical FD-258 cards, you upload the electronic file with your eForm. See ATF eFile fingerprinting.
How many FD-258 cards do I need for a paper ATF filing?
For paper filings the ATF asks for two FD-258 cards per individual applicant on Form 1, Form 4 and Form 5, and two per Responsible Person on FFL Form 23. Our $75 fee covers both cards for one person. See FD-258 fingerprinting for the format detail.
Do I file the Form 1 or Form 4 myself, or do you do that?
We provide the fingerprints only, as an EFT file or completed FD-258 cards. The ATF form itself (Form 1, Form 4, Form 23 and so on) is filed by you, your attorney or your dealer, not by us. We handle the fingerprint portion of your application package.
Can all my gun trust members come in together?
Yes. We schedule multi-trustee gun trusts as a single group appointment. All Responsible Persons are fingerprinted together and each receives their own EFT file or FD-258 cards. Plan for approximately 15–20 minutes per person.
Can you fingerprint several Responsible Persons at our FFL or business?
Yes, ask us about a mobile session. We are based in Kansas City and travel within Missouri and Kansas. Mobile pricing is the standard service price plus a travel fee for one person, and group sessions are quoted in writing before we book, based on headcount, card types and location. My Form 4 was rejected due to bad fingerprint submissions. Can you redo them?
Yes. We regularly assist customers whose submissions were rejected elsewhere. Come in, bring the rejection notice if you have it, and we will prepare new prints with extra attention to ridge clarity. Every submission is reviewed before you leave.
