Hospitals and healthcare
Leawood has no hospital of its own, but several are minutes away. Saint Luke’s South Hospital and Menorah Medical Center are in neighboring Overland Park, and Saint Joseph Medical Center is just across State Line Road in Kansas City, Missouri. Nurses at hospitals like these who hold or are applying for a Kansas license typically need a Kansas Board of Nursing fingerprint card, which KSBN accepts from a private provider. We roll the card and sign the KSBN waiver as your technician on the same day.
Because these hospitals sit on both sides of the state line, many Leawood nurses and clinicians hold licenses in Kansas and Missouri, or work as travel staff licensed in several states. Multi-State Print-to-Card captures your prints once and prints a card for each board that permits it. Our healthcare fingerprinting page covers credentialing requests from clinics and practices.
Schools and colleges
Southern Leawood is in the Blue Valley School District, and northern Leawood is in the Shawnee Mission School District. Teachers and substitutes in either district apply for a Kansas license through KSDE, which uses its own preformatted FD-258 card mailed with a separate background fee. Bring the KSDE card and we roll it; our teacher and substitute fingerprinting page has the details. Leawood residents who teach across State Line in a Missouri district follow Missouri DESE’s process, which uses MACHS and IdentoGO, with a mailed card option only for applicants who live outside Missouri. That applies to many Leawood residents, since they live in Kansas.
Nearby colleges include Johnson County Community College and the University of Kansas Edwards Campus in Overland Park, and Avila University on Wornall Road in south Kansas City. Nursing and education students are often asked for fingerprints or an FBI record before clinical or classroom placements; see our nursing student fingerprinting page.
Employers and business areas
Leawood is home to the headquarters of AMC Theatres, Euronet Worldwide and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Executives, board members and corporate staff at headquarters like these sometimes need FBI records for international assignments or regulatory filings, while the city’s wealth management, brokerage and insurance offices generate requests for FINRA Form U4 fingerprints and insurance producer cards.
The office buildings along Tomahawk Creek Parkway, Town Center Drive and the 135th Street corridor house many smaller financial, legal, insurance and medical practices. When several people at one firm need prints, an on-site group session is usually easier than sending everyone across State Line.
