We list these institutions as local landmarks to help you work out your own requirement. They are not affiliated with Midwest Identity Services, and your employer, school or licensing board always sets the actual method, card type and ORI number. Bring their written instructions and we will follow them.
Hospitals and health systems
Several major hospitals are within a short drive of Prairie Village: AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in neighboring Merriam, The University of Kansas Health System at KU Medical Center on 39th Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard, Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City near the Country Club Plaza, and Children’s Mercy Kansas City. Nurses who work at Kansas facilities usually hold a Kansas license, and the Kansas State Board of Nursing asks applicants for a mailed FD-258 card with its waiver signed by the person who rolls the prints on the same day. We roll the card, fill in the board’s ORI and sign the waiver at your appointment. Nurses crossing State Line to work in Missouri face a different system: Missouri boards use MACHS and IdentoGO, but Kansas residents can usually choose card processing and mail an FD-258 card, which we can roll. Allied health staff, from respiratory therapists to radiologic technologists, should check their own board’s instructions, and our healthcare fingerprinting page covers the common cases.
Schools and school districts
Prairie Village is part of the Shawnee Mission School District. Shawnee Mission East High School and Indian Hills Middle School are both in the city, along with several neighborhood elementary schools. Private and parochial options nearby include St. Ann Catholic School in Prairie Village and Bishop Miege High School in neighboring Roeland Park. Teachers and substitutes applying for a Kansas license use the KSDE fingerprint card, which we roll and you mail to KSDE with its separate background fee. Prairie Village residents who teach across the line in a Missouri district can use Missouri’s MACHS card processing option, because they live outside Missouri. Coaches and volunteers should ask the school which check it wants, since many volunteer screenings are name-based rather than fingerprint-based.
Colleges and health science programs
Johnson County Community College in Overland Park and the schools of nursing and health professions at KU Medical Center draw many Prairie Village students. Students in clinical programs often need a fingerprint-based check before rotations, then a second set of prints when they apply for a license. We follow the school’s or clinical site’s instructions, and programs can book a cohort session with pricing quoted in writing before we book.
Offices and licensed professionals
Between the Country Club Plaza and the Overland Park office corridors, Prairie Village is home to many financial advisors, insurance producers, attorneys and real estate agents. Registered representatives usually need FD-258 cards for FINRA Form U4 filings through their firm. Kansas resident insurance producers can mail the Kansas Insurance Department an FD-258 card from any provider (see insurance license fingerprinting). Real estate agents working both sides of State Line often need cards for both the Kansas and Missouri commissions, which is where multi-state print-to-card helps when each agency permits it.
